Here are some of the projects I've done with education and regional planning.
Go Green Africa Summer Program
Taught 120 students in Bamenda, Cameroon, about dangers to humans and the environment of using plastic baggies. For the culmination, had every student write a letter to the Ministry of Environment to ask them to ban the plastic bags. Letters were delivered personally to the headquarters in Yaounde. Five years later, in 2014, "Cameroon President Paul Biya, through the Ministry of Environment, Protection of Nature, and Sustainable Development, has issued a ban on the use of non-biodegradable plastics bags. The ban is going to take effect on April 24th throughout the nation."
Funded by the Ruth Dietrich Tuttle Prize at Smith College and private donors.
Fulbright Fellowship to Study Dance in Senegal
I was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to research and work with Sabar dance artists in Senegal in 2010-11.
Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise - Consulting Project in Ghana
Worked as student consultants for a large media firm's philanthropic branch to find methods to empower women in Ghana through sustainable business practices. As part of a team of four in the Johnson Business School’s Sustainable Global Enterprise Immersion, traveled to Ghana to research findings on the recommended actions.
Funded by Johnson Business School.
